Organic Growth North of the Border

E-mail Print PDF

LIQUID SOLUTIONS have recently installed a new automatic labelling machine at Black Isle Brewery, north of Inverness.  The installation is part of a massive expansion plan following the success of their 100% organic beer brands, at home and in export markets (including England!).

The labeller is capable of up to 3,000 bottles per hour, applying a full wrap-around body label on two different bottle sizes: 500 and 330ml.  It operates on a 'belt' system to smooth labels onto a rotating bottle as it passes along the conveyer.  Similar machines are available to cope with speeds up to 5,000 per hour

There is a rotary feed table, hot foil printer applying lot mark and best before date, and auto stop/start function controlled by a photocell on the outfeed conveyer.

Summer Harvest starts in Winter

E-mail Print PDF

Liquid Solutions have recently supplied tanks, processing and filtration equipment to the optimistically named SUMMER HARVEST Oils, located in chilly Perthshire, Scotland.

They are growers and producers of double award-winning, high quality Rapeseed Oil (the British alternative to olive oil, and with moreSummer Harvest Oils 1 Omega 3 and Vitamin E !!), to be sold in the growing market in the UK and overseas.

The equipment will be used for collection of oil from the seed press, settling/clarification, and final filtration before bottling.  Summer Harvest previously had these operations done by an external contractor: bringing production in-house attracted grant funding and will give flexibility, enabling future expansion and diversification.

Liquid Solutions supplies largest Irish Brewery

E-mail Print PDF

website1website2

Porterhouse Brewing in Dublin do produce a fantastic dark beer: perhaps not as well known as a certain other brand, but as the claim goes, it is 'Irelands largest genuine Irish brewery'.

That's not to say there is any insular thinking at Porterhouse: aside from the four bars and hotel in Dubin, there's a bar in London and now in Shanghai, plus beers are exported to various countries including the US.

Liquid Solutions' modest contribution to this success story is the provision of a self-adhesive labeller to apply front, back, and neck labels to their 330ml bottles.  Last seen working at around 2,500 per hour on 'Celebration Stout', one of over a dozen brews available in bottle.

The labeller is capable of applying transparent or opaque labels, paper or plastic, and has a hot foil printer for date / lot mark, and automatic stop/start to match filling machine speed.

New website for Liquid Solutions

E-mail Print PDF
We have just designed the brand new website for Liquid Solutions. The old website was getting a little long in the tooth and was very hard for anyone to update and as a result it remained largely static. So, we decided to upgrade it to make it a lot more simple to change and to take advantage of new web technologies that will allow our site to have a lot more self-optimising content. We engaged Click here to visit Lightquick web DesignLightquick Web Design to perform the update. They seamlessly transferred all the content from the old site to the new, added new functionality and made the new site so much more pretty than the old. We used a technology called a Content Management system which allows anyone to add content to any page straight from a browser. The CMS we used is called Joomla and is a state-of-the-art Content Management System competing with the very best. I can say we are very happy with the result.

A word from the webmaster: The site has been built using the CMS functionality of a tool called Joomla. This CMS is the easiest of all Content Management Systems for entering new information, new content and even allowing guests to comment on everything within the site. We chose Joomla 1.5 as it is the most up to date version of Joomla, it is flexible and the client gets the cutting edge of current open source web technology. On this page you will find news, newsflashes, a tag cloud, recently modified articles, easy access to all the pages, a user selectable look and feel (site colours) and so much more beneath the skin. Contact us here if you interested in the same.
